Become a Facebook Ads master
Facebook is the biggest social network today with over 2 billion users worldwide. In Côte d’Ivoire specifically, there are more than 4 million users, according to the ARTCI regulator.
If you want to grow your business, Facebook is the platform. Whether you’re in e-commerce or services, Facebook Ads is your best ally.
The basics of Facebook Ads
First, to run ads on Facebook, you need a Page and your role on the Page (Admin, Editor, etc.) must let you create ads.

How to add Djamo as a payment method on Facebook
When you create your business account, Facebook offers to add a payment method. You can only do this if you’re an admin of the ad account.
Here’s how:
- Go to Payment Settings in Ads Manager and tap Add Payment Method
- In the Payment Method section, tap Add Payment Method
- Select Credit/Debit Card and tap Continue. Then enter your card details (cardholder name as shown in the left menu of the app, the card number on the front, the expiration date, and the 3-digit CVV on the back) and tap Next
- Follow the additional instructions to add your payment method

Running ads with the Boost button
To create a boosted post:
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Find the post you want to boost and select Boost post
- Choose a recommended audience or create your own
- Pick a recommended budget or set your custom budget
- Pick one of the suggested time ranges or choose an end date
- Check the payment method already saved
- When you’re done, tap Boost
Note: If you can’t tap Boost post, the boost may not be available for that post.

Running ads via Ads Manager
The Business Manager Ads Manager is more advanced than the Boost button. With this account, you can create ad campaigns, view stats, and see your invoices to track your spending.
To create a Business Manager:
- Go to business.facebook.com/overview
- Tap Create Account
- Follow the instructions and you’re set
To add a Page to Business Manager:
- Go to Business Settings
- In Business Assets, tap Accounts, then Pages
- From the dropdown, tap Add
- Select Add a Page
After that, create an ad account:
- Go to Business Settings
- Tap Accounts, then Ad Accounts
- Tap Add
- Choose Create a new ad account
Objectives and targeting
In Business Manager, you have multiple options: boost your post, build awareness for your Page, gain new followers, drive traffic to your site. Pick the option that fits.

Targeting matters. Define it well to avoid spending on the wrong audience. In Business Manager, you can create your targeting by demographics, interests, mobile or web device usage, and more.
For your ad to be approved by Facebook, review the ad policies. Avoid cluttered visuals and don’t address banned topics.
Billing your ads
You can set two types of budgets to control how much you spend on an ad.
Daily budget: the average amount you’re willing to spend each day for the duration of your ad.
Lifetime or total budget: the amount you’re willing to spend across the entire run of your ad.
In the Billing section of Ads Manager, you’ll find all your ad spend. Your final invoice may be higher than your budget for a single ad - because your account is charged for every ad you run. Your ad costs are automatically billed when they hit your billing threshold (the threshold is the amount you set for your ad).
If you keep running ads after hitting your threshold, you’ll be charged on your monthly billing date. So it’s normal for your ads to be billed several times a month, or even after they stop running.
Tips to avoid payment failures

Here are the usual reasons for payment failures:
- Insufficient funds on your card: you don’t have enough on your card to pay for the ad. Facebook rejects the payment. You’ll get a notification from the Djamo app letting you know the payment failed and that rejection fees were charged. Always check in the app that your card is funded, especially near your monthly billing date.

- Card limit reached: the Djamo card limit is 2 million per day and 12 million per month. So you can no longer sponsor posts for the current month if you’ve made transactions totaling 10 million F with your Djamo card.
- Incorrect card info: make sure your card details (cardholder name, card number, CVV) are entered correctly.
