How to order on Amazon without the hassle 😍
Today, it’s easy to order on Amazon even from Côte d’Ivoire. You can pay with your Djamo Visa card and have your parcel delivered by a forwarding service. Here’s how to do it.
Amazon is the most popular e-commerce site in the world, founded by Jeff Bezos. Plenty of sites sell online: Walmart, Cdiscount, Fnac, Rakuten, La Redoute, eBay, AliExpress, Flipkart, Newegg, Overstock, Best Buy, JingDong, SheIn, Zalando… But if you want to shop the world’s most popular brands, Amazon is the place to go.
Opening an account
To open an Amazon account, here’s what to do:
On the website or the Amazon app, tap Accounts & Lists in the menu bar. The Sign in button is visible if you already have an account, and if you’re new to the platform, tap Create your account. Follow the instructions and you’ll get a confirmation email to finalize registration.
Placing your first order
To order, you have several search options: search for a specific item in the search bar, tap a product and view suggestions, or tap a category in the product menu. There are also sorting options to make it easier: Featured, Average customer review, Newest arrivals, Price: high to low, and Price: low to high.
After ordering, add the product to your cart and follow the instructions.
Getting delivery in Abidjan
Some items on Amazon aren’t eligible for direct shipping to Côte d’Ivoire. To work around this, add a delivery address in France or another eligible country. Tap Manage my delivery address and add other addresses.

If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of shipping, you can use a middleman (Jexport, Easy Delivery, La Poste, DHL, Upela, UPS, etc.) who will track your parcel and deliver it to your home or office, whether you’re in Abidjan or upcountry. Before paying on Amazon, talk to a shipping service based in Côte d’Ivoire to learn their rates, shipping method, and any other useful details.
On Jexport, you can calculate the shipping cost.

On Easy Delivery, it works like this:
You run a simulation on their site to see how much shipping will cost.

Adding your Djamo card as a payment method
To add your Djamo card, go to your account. Then tap Add a payment card. You’ll find these options in your account, specifically under “your payments”. With your Djamo card, you can pay for purchases quickly, hassle-free, and with no fees. You’ll also have full control of your finances, and you can view your stats.
Then fill in your card details (the card number on the front, your full name as shown in the “Cards” section of your Djamo app, the expiration date, and the 3-digit security code on the back).
Please top up your card before adding it to Amazon to avoid rejection fees - the site charges a little over a dollar to test your card.
