Pay for your Yango rides with the Djamo card

Pay for your Yango rides with the Djamo card

When it comes to getting around, we naturally pick the fastest, easiest, and most affordable option - especially if you can pay the fare by bank card and skip the change hassle.

Yango - along with Uber, Ekla ride, Taxijet, Africab, Tituce Drive, and Izicab - checks that box, much to riders’ delight. Like Uber and others, Yango also accepts VISA card payments via its app.

Great news that takes the change-and-cash hassle out of the equation - you can pay for your ride with your Djamo card. No more leaving change with the driver.

If you use Yango and want to know how to pay with a Djamo card - or if you’re new and want to give the service a try - read on.

How to create an account

With Yango, you can get around anywhere in Côte d’Ivoire. Pick between eco or comfort modes. Plus, Yango added two options - delivery and courier - for sending packages.

To get started, download the app on Play Store or App Store. Then open the app and follow these steps:

In the top left corner, tap “Add phone number.” Enter your number. Once confirmed, your account is created.

How to add your card

To add your card, tap:

  • The menu in the top left corner
  • The option “How do you want to pay?”
  • Then “Add a card”

You’ll be asked to enter your card details (the card number on the front, your first and last name as shown in the left menu of your Djamo app, the card expiry date, and the 3-digit security code on the back).

Add card

You’ll get an authentication code by SMS, email, and notification to confirm adding the card. Yango will also charge a small amount of around 500 F or less to test your card.

Once done, your card is selected as your payment method. You can now order a ride.

How to pay for a ride with your card

To request a ride:

  • First turn on location services so Yango can show available vehicles nearby.
  • Once location is on, you’ll see your position on the app, with a field to enter your destination.
  • The price appears based on your destination. Tap the “Order” button.

Order ride

Yango will then find a vehicle and show you the details (car model and plate number, driver name, driver rating, payment method, etc.). When the ride ends, your card is charged and you get an invoice via the Yango app and a Djamo notification with the transaction details.

How to file a complaint

If you weren’t satisfied with your ride, were charged too much, or want a refund, you can contact Yango directly through the app to file a complaint.

To do that, tap:

  • Support service in the menu in the top left corner
  • Then Help, then pick the option that matches your issue
  • If your issue isn’t listed, tap “Other issue,” then “Contact support” to chat with an advisor
