Boomplay is a music and video streaming and download service. Like Deezer and Spotify, Boomplay gives you unlimited access to every genre you can think of.

It’s currently Africa’s biggest and most active music app, with a catalog of 80 million songs and videos - Rumba, Coupé-Décalé, Afrobeat, Rap Ivoire, Zouglou and more - and over 68 million users.

The platform is completely free, but it also offers Premium access so you can skip the ads and download your favorite artists’ songs.

Boomplay Premium costs $2.99/month. You get a free 1-month trial, then payments are automatically taken from your account once the trial ends.

How to subscribe to Boomplay with your Djamo card

To subscribe to Boomplay, you first need to download the app and add your card to Google Pay or the App Store. With a monthly subscription on these platforms, you can pay directly from your Djamo card, and renewal happens automatically unless you cancel.

If you haven’t added your Djamo card to Google Pay yet, here’s the step-by-step guide.

Once your card is on Google Pay or the App Store, you’re ready to subscribe.

• Tap the account icon in the top right of the app

• Then tap Subscribe

• You’ll land on a page with the subscription details. At the bottom of the app, tap the blue Subscribe now button

• If you’ve already saved your card to Google Pay, tap Continue.

• A new page will open asking for your email address and password. Fill them in, then tap Verify.

You can now listen to music ad-free and download unlimited songs and videos for offline playback (so you can listen without using the internet). The initial download uses data, but later playback doesn’t.

Song and video downloads are only available during your subscription. Once it expires, you won’t be able to play that content again until you renew your Boomplay subscription.

Boomplay will send you a reminder 7 days before the end of your trial. Keep an eye out so you can avoid rejection fees.
