The most stylish cards 馃挸

Bank cards play a big role in our financial lives. They鈥檙e convenient, secure, and lightweight - extremely useful. Beyond utility, they also need to look good, which is why banks pay so much attention to design. In this article, we鈥檒l focus on that side of the story: the most stylish cards. The need to win over potential customers pushes banks to innovate - designing cards that look better or come with more appealing benefits than the competition.

The card material

The body is made of several layers of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The front and back are printed using offset (often UV or waterless) and/or screen printing. They鈥檙e then assembled with a clear protective PVC film applied to each side.

The layers are then cut to card size, and the surface hologram and signature panel are added.

The hologram is silver and a few centimeters wide. It shows rainbow colors depending on the light, along with a design - usually the credit card brand mark.

For environmental reasons, the industry is exploring alternatives to PVC: less polluting materials, easier to recycle, or cards made from recycled plastic.

The electronics

Electronics are a key part of any bank card. The chip wiring is made with gold threads, and the whole assembly is protected by resin. The chip stores the card number, expiry date, and 4-digit PIN.

There are innovations that combine security and design. Some cards are covered with a transparent hologram across the entire surface - which boosts security without compromising looks.

Card design

How a card looks matters: the color, the lettering, the logo placement, the packaging. Your Djamo card is black, reflecting the elegance you carry. Other models include transparent cards, mirror-effect cards, cards with LEDs, foldable cards, cards with custom cutouts, even scented cards using microencapsulation - tiny perfume capsules embedded in special ink that release a scent when rubbed. Metallic cards too.

Luxury cards

The luxury industry has made its way into card design. Eurasian Bank in Kazakhstan offers its wealthy clients the Visa Infinite - a card with an embedded diamond and fine-gold details.

Putting the spotlight on technology

The trend isn鈥檛 just about looks - it鈥檚 about innovative technology. Contactless cards are a perfect example. Contactless lets you pay without inserting your card. You just tap it on a compatible reader. Mobile contactless payments - using Near Field Communication (NFC) and RFID - are also being rolled out. A chip in your phone (or even your keychain) lets you pay simply by tapping it against the terminal.

The Djamo card - one of the most stylish

Laser-engraved and designed with obsessive attention to detail, your Djamo card is simple, minimal, and equipped with the latest NFC technology for contactless payments. The Black Card has an all-black finish created with vapor emulsion. Its matte coating gives it a velvety, premium feel. The multi-layered Djamo logo is printed in holographic rainbow ink for a unique, shimmering effect.
