Your Djamo account opens up to the whole world
Good news: you can now top up with any bank card — even your sister’s card in France. Less good news: it’ll cost you (just a little). Here’s the full story.
First, the big news
Until now, topping up your Djamo account by card was for Ivorian cards only. A Senegalese, French, or even Belgian card? You had to find another way. Wait around, ask someone, work around it.
That’s over. From June 2026, Djamo accepts every bank card, whether it comes from the UEMOA zone or the Euro zone. Your cousin in Lyon can top up your account. You, on a trip to Dakar — your local card works. The card border is gone.
👋 To be precise: we’re opening up the UEMOA zone (8 countries) and the Euro zone (20 countries). More zones are on the way.

👀 Now, the part we need to talk about
Here’s how it works in real life: when you pay with an international card, there are banking middlemen. Networks. Partners. And those partners don’t work for free — trust us, we tried to negotiate.
For you to top up from any card, and for the money to land in seconds, we have to cover these processing fees. So yes, from June 2026, card top-ups become paid. But we did it our way: simple, visible, and as fair as we could make it.
💡 The other top-up methods — Mobile Money, bank transfer — don’t change. These fees only apply to bank cards.
The pricing, no surprises:
- Local card (UEMOA zone) → 1.5%. On 20,000 F, you pay 300 F in fees. You receive 19,700 F.
- International card (Euro zone) → 2.5%. On 20,000 F, you pay 500 F in fees. You receive 19,500 F.

Why do the fees change depending on the card?
Good question. The short answer: processing a payment from an Ivorian Visa card is simpler, and cheaper, than processing one from a German Mastercard. The networks involved, the currencies, the banking rules — all of it shifts with where the card comes from.
We didn’t invent these costs. We pass them on as fairly as we can. 1.5% for local, 2.5% for international. That’s the reality of cross-border payments, no frills.
And you don’t have to worry about any of it: the app automatically detects your card type. You enter your amount, you see the fees and what you’ll receive. You confirm. That’s it.
This change is what it takes to truly open up to the world. So your Djamo account is useful whether you’re in Abidjan, in Dakar, or your family is in Lyon. We chose it on purpose, and we stand by it.
🌍 And this is just the beginning. The goal: gradually accept more and more regions. Because money shouldn’t have borders.
